Today, more than 40 years after the first car rolled off the assembly line, DeLoreans come in a wide variety of conditions - all the way from "parts cars" to "museum-quality". It's important to differentiate between the types - which usually boils down to the quality and quantity of the car's recent service history.
"Quality" is defined by experienced DeLorean-specific technicians using the correct parts, while "Quantity" means that the right things were done, and done completely. For example, a fuel-system overhaul is more than simply replacing a fuel pump and filter. Attention must also have been given to the fuel tank, fuel injectors, fuel sender, fuel distributor, control pressure regulator, accumulator, fuel lines, and more. With this in mind, always demand written documentation of the work professed to have been completed on any DeLorean you are considering for purchase.
Classic DMC and our dealers, realizing that potential buyers of DeLorean cars often have different desires, offer DeLorean cars in varying levels to hopefully have a DeLorean available that meets their wishes. We have defined and described them as follows:

"As-Is" Condition DeLoreans
These cars have undergone a cursory inspection and are otherwise sold to the buyer just the way we bought it ourselves. It is likely to be in "barn find" or "as-found' status and may be in non-running condition. Not to be confused with "Museum Quality" as described later in this page. "As-Is" cars carry no warranty of any kind unless otherwise indicated in writing by the selling dealer. For an additional charge, our complete, 11-page, 300+ point inspection and complete estimate of charges to repair the issues revealed can be performed.

Daily Driver Condition DeLoreans
A car in "Daily Driver" condition has had a more extensive inspection and all major systems - engine, transmission, cooling system, braking, fuel, electrical and HVAC - have been given a "passing grade". Some pre-sale service has been completed on these vehicles, which will vary from car to car (see the car's description or inquire of the selling dealer for details). All pre-sale service is covered by a six-month/six-thousand mile warranty valid at any authorized Classic DMC location. For an additional charge, our complete, 11-page, 300+ point inspection and complete estimate of charges to repair the issues revealed can be performed.

Premium Pre-Owned DeLoreans
These vehicles have had our 11-page, 300+ point inspection and estimate completed along with extensive service and other updates in order to warranty the car's major systems - engine, transmission, cooling system, braking, fuel, electrical and HVAC - for a period of six-months/six-thousand miles at any authorized Classic DMC location. The car will have very attractive cosmetics inside and outside with many new or refurbished components. Ask your selling dealer for a copy of this work and the warranty terms and conditions.

Live the Dream...Again™ (LTDA) DeLoreans
At present, these vehicles are only available at the Classic DMC location in Texas, and are limited to no more than three cars per year. They are prepared to the purchaser's order and all are complete, body-off restorations and include complimentary enclosed shipping upon completion anywhere in the USA. Museum Quality DeLoreans
As the title implies, these are DeLorean cars destined for a Museum or a superior, curated collection. Extremely original and in exemplary cosmetic condition or otherwise historically significant with documented provenance. These DeLoreans are often ultra-low (sub 100) mile examples that have been stored correctly virtually since new in the early 1980s but may also be non-production or prototypes. Many times these are in non-running condition due to their aforementioned storage and it may be detrimental to their value to service these vehicles to running condition.
