Restoration Done Your Way
The professional restoration of a DeLorean is no small task. It requires many hours of labor, years of experience, and access to the proper parts. The process usually starts with a phone call from a DeLorean owner - sometimes from someone who realizes their new purchase needs more work than they expected, sometimes from an original or long-time owner who remembers how their car was when they first got it. Either way, they want it right - and that means the job must be done properly.
A restoration estimate is generated from our 11-page Vehicle Inspection Report checklist, which we have developed over the last 35+ years of servicing DeLorean cars. Before we begin our inspection, the DeLorean is washed, so as not to disguise any blemishes that may be lurking under layers of dirt or debris. If the car is currently not running, we will also perform a make-run service on it to get it operational enough to check for any red flags, such as engine block rot or extreme frame rust, and to be able to safely test out all of its systems.
One of our experienced technicians then goes over the car thoroughly - checking the body, drivetrain, all electrical components, suspension and interior as he or she completes the 11-page Vehicle Inspection Report. Between the visual inspection and road testing of the car, the technician will spend several hours filling out the Report checklist, which has been developed in-house by people experienced with DeLoreans over the past 35-plus years of working with them day in and day out.
Most DeLoreans are now 40+ years from new and the original epoxy-coated mild steel frames are showing signs of age. Many DeLorean frames are beginning to need repair, and some need an outright frame replacement. DMC and our affiliated dealers have the staff, materials, and the components to do the job right.
Seats, headliners, carpets, dash, binnacle, knee pads, door panels - this is where you spend your time when driving your DeLorean, so make it an attractive and pleasant place to be.
The customer will often bring their DeLorean to one of our facilities themselves, but we can also help to arrange transportation of their car to our facility on a carrier if needed (always load a DeLorean nose-first onto a transporter or trailer to prevent the sunshade/louvre from breaking off in the wind!). We can also help arrange for the car to be delivered back to the customer once the work is complete.
Popular Upgrades
Electric power steering, exhaust/engine upgrades, and upgraded performance suspension are among our most popular add-ons for DeLorean buyers (and existing DeLorean owners!) around the world. Click on an image below to learn more or contact us for more details.
